About SIKLIST
SIKLIST is an independent field guide that helps new and improving road cyclists make confident decisions without jargon, pressure, or gatekeeping.
Last updated 28 July 2026
SIKLIST exists because beginning road cycling often feels harder to understand than it needs to. Product categories overlap, experienced riders use unfamiliar language, and simple questions can attract contradictory answers.
Our promise: give you a useful answer, explain the tradeoffs, show where the limits are, and help you take one sensible next step.
Who SIKLIST is for
We write primarily for adults who are new to road bikes, returning after time away, or improving their skills and independence. You do not need expensive equipment, racing ambitions, exceptional fitness, or prior mechanical knowledge to belong here.
Our guides focus on the moments that shape early cycling: choosing and setting up a bike, learning the controls, planning manageable rides, solving common roadside problems, and knowing when professional help is the safer choice.
What makes a SIKLIST guide
- One clear reader problem or decision.
- A direct answer near the beginning.
- Plain-English explanations of unfamiliar terms.
- Tradeoffs instead of a universal “best.”
- Primary sources for current, technical, legal, medical, and safety-sensitive claims.
- Useful images, diagrams, checklists, or interactions when they improve understanding.
- A practical next step and links to the closest related lesson.
How the work is created
SIKLIST uses research, editorial judgment, software tools, and AI assistance to plan, draft, illustrate, check, and maintain content. AI assistance is never treated as a source. Factual claims that need support are checked against appropriate primary or authoritative references, and generated instructional images are reviewed before publication.
We do not invent personal experience, product testing, qualifications, quotes, prices, or measurements. If an article is based on hands-on testing or a named expert review, it will say so explicitly. Otherwise, readers should understand it as carefully researched editorial guidance—not a claim that the editorial team personally tested every product or technique.
Independence and commercial relationships
SIKLIST currently prioritizes education over sales. We do not accept payment for favorable coverage. If sponsorships, affiliate links, free products, or other material relationships are introduced, they will be disclosed clearly beside the affected content.
Safety and scope
Cycling conditions, traffic rules, equipment requirements, and bodies differ. SIKLIST cannot inspect your bicycle, observe your technique, diagnose pain, or replace a qualified mechanic, fitter, coach, clinician, or local authority. Stop riding when control, equipment condition, symptoms, or conditions make continuing unsafe.
For the detailed rules behind our work, read the editorial policy. If something is wrong or unclear, use the corrections process.
